Celebrating International Education Week

CIEE is excited to celebrate International Education Week (IEW), a week dedicated to celebrating the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. To mark the occasion, we will offer educational events throughout our global network, including at our 2013 Annual Conference—the leading conference on international education—and through sponsored global screenings of Girl Rising, a film about the importance of educating girls around the world.

A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week began in 2000 and is now celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide. This annual initiative aims to promote international understanding and build support for international educational exchange by encouraging the development of programs that prepare Americans to live and work in a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study in the United States.
